Fleet and Commercial Van Detailing: Keeping Company Vehicles Presentable
A wrapped service van is the most visible piece of marketing a local business owns, and it spends every day in the sun on I-4, the Polk Parkway, and Highway 27. Within a few months it has a film of road grime, lovebug residue on the front, and a driver's seat that smells like the last three hundred lunches. The customer sees all of that in the driveway before the tech has said a word. Fleet detailing is about keeping that impression right without pulling vehicles off the road to do it.
Why mobile is the right fit for fleets
A shop detail means a vehicle is out of service for a day, plus the driving and the waiting. Multiply that across a fleet and it is real money in lost billable hours. Mobile detailing happens where the vehicles already are, in the yard, at the office, or at a jobsite, usually early in the morning or after the crews are in for the day. We bring water and power, so the location does not need a spigot or an outlet. Three or four vans done in a morning in one lot is a normal job for us.
What a fleet detail includes
The right level depends on the vehicle and how it is used, and we would rather look at the fleet than quote blind. As a rule:
Exterior. Hand wash, wheels and tires, bug and tar removal on the front, glass, and a spray sealant to make the next wash easier. Vinyl wraps and lettering are washed with the same care as paint; brushes and harsh chemicals lift the edges of a wrap and dull the print.
Interior. Full vacuum, the cab wiped down, the touchpoints cleaned, and a proper treatment of the driver's seat, which in a work vehicle is the single dirtiest surface. Cargo areas get swept and wiped; a shelving system full of parts stays in place and we work around it.
Deep detail. Periodically, a full truck detail with decontamination, a proper sealant, and seat extraction. Once or twice a year keeps the paint and wrap from degrading and resets the interior.
A schedule that actually works
Most fleets in Central Florida do well on a monthly maintenance wash with a deeper interior every quarter and a full detail annually. Lovebug season in May and September is worth an extra front-end visit; the residue etches paint and wraps within days in the heat, which we cover in How to Remove Lovebugs From Car Paint. Landscaping and pest control fleets that haul chemicals need the beds and cargo areas rinsed more often than that.
The value of a schedule is that vehicles never get to the state where a detail is a rescue. Maintenance is cheaper than restoration in every trade, including this one.
Wraps, lettering and paint protection
A vinyl wrap has a finite life in Florida sun, and dirt shortens it. Washing regularly and keeping a sealant designed for vinyl on the wrap slows the fading and keeps the edges from lifting. On unwrapped fleet vehicles, a paint protection layer does the same job for the paint: the van stays presentable between washes and the washes go faster.
Faded lettering and chalky white roofs are the classic look of a fleet that has never had protection. It is avoidable.
Company cars and rideshare fleets
Sedans and SUVs used by staff or as client-facing vehicles need the interior kept at a higher standard than a work van. A client stepping into a car that smells of fast food and has a sticky console has formed an opinion. We treat these the same way as our rideshare and client-facing car work: interior standard first, exterior close behind.
What we need from you
Vehicle count and types, a location with room to work, and a time window. Keys or a contact on site. If a vehicle is loaded with equipment, tell us in advance and we will plan around it. We work with fleets across Lakeland, Plant City, Bartow, Winter Haven, and out toward Orlando and Kissimmee, and a regular route through the same yard each month is easy to set up.
FAQ
Can you work at our office before we open? Yes. Early starts are common for fleet work so vehicles are ready when the crews arrive.
Do you need water and power on site? No. The rig is self-contained.
Can you detail vehicles with racks and shelving installed? Yes. We work around installed equipment. Cargo areas are cleaned as far as access allows.
How do you handle a wrap? Hand wash only, pH-neutral soap, no pressure at the edges, and a wrap-safe sealant afterward. No brushes and no aggressive degreasers on the print.
